The Twa pygmies are an ancient tribal group of hunter gathering, bush peoples who have been driven from their forested wet lands near the great lakes by progress. They used to eke a living hunting and by making and selling pots made from the clay in the marshlands.

The authorities have leased the pygmies traditional lands to big business and moved the tribes to the mountains where the hunting is sparse, water is 2-6 hours away - depending on the season and they are living in great poverty.  Water is so far away that they are unable even to repair their houses
