MANY THANKS FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE IN THE PAST TO HELP OTHERS.   WE WILL BE SENDING ANOTHER LOAD OF KNITTING VIA ONE NATION IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS SO THE KNITTING YOU HAVE ALREADY SENT WILL NOT BE WASTED. 

Compassion Direct Knit for Kids started locally in response to the Syrian crisis many years ago, it has now grown so much that we receive knitting from all over the UK spread by word of mouth by those of us who wish to help, thank you all.  Please remember that there are many other organisations in the UK that would appreciate your support, for example Knit for Peace who can be contacted on www.knitforpeace.org.uk there are also lots of Facebook groups who need your support.

For many years we sent thank you notes to knitters but, like you we are all volunteers with busy lives and finally we have had to say that we just can’t manage to acknowledge your wonderful parcels any longer, we just don’t have the time.  We sent 25 enormous tightly packed sacks, just a few weeks ago and your work is filling more sacks as I write!

However, if you parcel your gifts securely and send to the correct address, there should be no problem.  Be assured we will make sure your work is appreciated. However, we do post pictures of some of your knitting onto our Facebook page and always show the sacks ready for transportation to Syria.
 
 All your knitting will be sent by container to a refugee camp in Syria via an organisation called One Nation.

  • We can provide leaflets on our work in Europe, South America & Africa.
  • Our Chairman - Ros, can give a zoom talk to your group about our work or you can find out more from our website. www.compassiondirectuk.org
  • Compassion Direct can provide a charity tin so that you can collect small donations from your members at each meeting.  Although we are all volunteers at Compassion Direct we still have to find money for printing, insurance, transportation etc. & for our projects.
  • We can advise you on fundraising events.
