PERIOD POVERTY

Period Poverty & Prostitution

Young women in remote areas of Africa, trying to educate themselves out of poverty miss up to 5 days a month at school because they can’t afford to buy period protection.

They get behind in their lessons and fail their grades.

Women are so desperate to educate themselves out of an otherwise inevitable future of poverty that they become temporary prostitutes so that they are able to buy supplies for themselves and their sisters to be able to attend school and get their grades.

Compassion Direct send parcels of washable durable period pants to existing projects in Rwanda.

Our charitable status gives us discounts and we can send 20 pairs of different sizes directly for £200 which includes postage.

Each £200 parcel will give hope to 20 girls and take them off the streets so they can continue their education innocently and choose a safer future. Help us please to help these young women out of period poverty towards a brighter, safer future. Go to our donate page to give, thankyou
