PAY ROLE GIVING or GIVE AS YOU EARN - GAYE

ASK YOUR EMPLOYER OR YOUR EMPLOYEES TO SET UP PAY ROLE GIVING AT WORK
RAISE MONEY FOR COMPASSION DIRECT, SAVE ON YOUR TAX BILL & HELP US AT THE SAME TIME

Payroll giving - Give as you Earn, allows employees to give to charity directly from their pay before tax. This reduces the amount of tax they pay & means they could afford to give more. Compassion Direct receive pay role giving donations through the Charities Aid Foundation – CAF have been running their payroll giving scheme, Give as You Earn, since 1987 & are the largest Payroll Giving Agency in the UK.  Employees can choose to give via CAF to Compassion Direct & they will send donations to us each month. The Give as You Earn (GAYE) scheme makes sense
  • For your company
  • For employees
  • For charities
For your company Boosts responsible business activities, & sends a positive, caring message to employees, the wider community & stakeholders Increases your employee benefits package offering Earns your company recognition through government-recognised quality marks For employees Makes giving tax-effective by donating before salaries are taxed Offers flexibility on an employee’s donation amount or chosen charities Sees donations increase if employers match them   For charities Provides regular, long-term income streams – helping us plan more effectively for expenditure Removes the need for us to claim Gift Aid – saving us valuable time. There are other benefits, too. Payroll giving provides insight into the causes we care about as well as offer teams or individuals’ opportunities to do more with support from companies.

  • You could be raising money to help South Sudanese refugees get rehomed
  • Reopen a jungle school food programme in Rwanda
  • Share the food programme with HIV mothers who attend our Sewing Workshop next door
  • Buy period pants for young girls who turn to prostitution to buy protection so that they can go to school & educate their way out of poverty, & so much more.
Unless a company is looking to pay the employees’ admin fees for giving, Give as You Earn needn’t cost employers a penny.

Any payments made to match an employer’s staff’s donations, as well as costs for running the scheme can be offset against profits – reducing the corporation tax bill. Compassion Direct choose to work with CAF’s Give as You Earn scheme because
  • They are the UK’s largest payroll giving agency, and they have run Give as You Earn since 1987
  • They handle donations from over 2,000 employers
  • Their robust charity verification and due diligence processes help donations reach Compassion Direct safely and securely.
